A support grid, also known as a grid base or slatted base, is essential for using a pole vault mat outdoors. The support grid ensures optimal ventilation of the landing mat. Waterlogging and moisture penetration into the mat from below as well as the consequences such as mould and algae formation are thus effectively avoided. The service life of your pole vaulting mats is thus significantly increased. In addition, a support grid prevents the pole vault mat from slipping when using the optional support brackets.

Made entirely of aluminium, this floor grate has a high level of stability and is resistant to all weather conditions. The large-dimensioned rectangular tubes with welded-on wide rectangular profiles (80 x 20 mm) give the floor grating a high degree of stability. The elastic contact surface contributes to energy dissipation during the athlete’s landing. An important safety feature is the floor-level safety closure. The slatted frame is closed to floor level under the front cushions and in the puncture box area so that pole vaulting poles cannot get stuck under the floor grid and become a hazard in the event of a run-up break.

Accessories: support bracket

The optionally available support brackets prevent the pole vault mat from slipping and hold it permanently in the correct and safe position on the floor grid.

Consisting of handy, stackable elements

We only use weather-resistant larch wood for our wooden floor grates. The durability is therefore many times higher compared to the commercially available slatted frames made of pressure-impregnated wood. The use of a renewable raw material also makes this product particularly sustainable. Just like our aluminium grids, the front side in the approach direction is closed at floor level to prevent the considerable potential danger of the pole vaulting poles getting stuck under the grid.
